Comic

Comic books have taken a big hold on the worlds youth. Manga seems to be the most popular. I myself never really obsessed with comic, because I like words and novels better. My brother loved comic books though. Especially the comics and tv show: Dragon Ball Z.
But, lot's of people really enjoy comic books, with their pictures and all the animated words like, POW!, and WHAM!,  but not me.

Please comment and tell me and the world what comics YOU like and why.

Fiction Books

If you like fiction novels, then authors like J.K Rowling, Emily Rodda, and Paul Jennings are for you.
There are many more, for example:
  • R.L Stine
  • Roald Dahl
  • Lewis Carroll
  • Stephanie Meyer
  • C.S Lewis
  • Ian Fleming
Just to name a few. For just 10 books, J.K Rowling has made approximately $450 million, so just imagine what the movie sales would have been! Like Ian Fleming, who wrote the James Bond series, he must rolling in $$$ :o
Most people think Fantasy and Fiction are the same thing. But you'd be very suprised to know they are aren't. fantasy is usually dragons, witches, magic and that. Which harry Potter fantasy. Fiction means something that isn'e true. yes, Harry Potter isn't true, but you would categorize that under fantasy for more detail.
Whereas Charlie and the chocolate Factory is just fiction because there is no magical basis to it.

Oh, the Horror!

If you're the kind of person who luvs a good scare, or scaring others, then you'll LUV this post! I havn't read that many horror books myself, but, the ones I have read have been pretty good at their scaring job.
The first horror book I read was an old book my family had sitting in the book cupboard.

The cover's torn now but it was a really good book. It was called: Fright Night. Now when I look back, it doesn't seem so scary as it did then. It was 3 books in one. Short spooky stories though. The ones you'd tell around a campfire.
The first was to do with this young-ish boy, last name Valentine, who's mother was a teacher at a university that taught about the paranormal. After he'd gone to a cemetary with his mum to pick up some tombstones to be repaired, a weird ghost girl started to follow him around,. In the end he and his 2 friends, one girl, other boy, got pulled through this portal in the back of the main boy's closet, and were trapped there being freaked out for like ages.
The second was about another young boy who had this annoying little sister, who one day, after his  'rents had told him of this spooky curse their dead neighbour had cast on their great-great-great grandfather, brought a black cat called Alice home. Funnily enough the dead neighbours name was Alicia. The sister found it as a stray in the creepy woods that were between the boys house and his friend's house. The kids called the woods: The Howlin' Tree Woods. The reason is too hard to explain, you better read it yourself.
The third, well, I can't exactly remeber what the third book was about so you'll just have to find the book, Fright Night and read it yourself.

The second series of horror books I read was Goosebumps. By R.L Stine. Now his books were amazing, my fave's had to be: Say Cheese and Die 1,2 and 3, Night of the Living Dummy 1,2 and 3, How I Got My Shrunken Head, and It came From Ohio. The last of which was an autobiography. I also have a private copy of How I got My shrunken head. I started reading Goosebumps mainly because my Year 4 teacher had a whole section of our classroom books shelf full of them.
if you want a good scare then read Goosebumps!: Readers Beware, You're in For a Scare!

PS. If you want horror read the first 2 short stories on the Short Stories Page!

Types of Books

There are many types of books that you can write:
  • Short Stories
  • Novels
  • Picture Books
  • Riddles
  • Jokes
  • Plays
  • Poems
  • Encyclopedias
  • Nature
  • Schools Textbooks
There are probably many more types, but I have only listed a few. I have read quite a lot of short story books, and I think they are fantastic. I also love riddle books and novels. Encyclopedias and textbooks are good for school, but not much else. Play and peom books aren't really my cup of tea either.

This is to Anonymous who has commented twice. If you think I should make my blog more pro then tell me how. And FYI, my cat did help me write this blog.

Kids Educational

OK, i am not sure at all if kids read this blog, but, if they do, i know some fab educational series they might wanna try.
Well, i actually only know one fab series, but if people comment i could suggest more.
My fave' series has to be: the Horrible Series. eg. Horrible History, Horrible Science, Horrible Geography, ect.
Terry Deary and Martin Brown just make the normal textbooks seem so, so lame. :P
Me, well, you could say that i am slightly obsessed with reading those books, but they are just so good. At the mo' I am reading: Freaky Peaks, form the Horrible Geography books.
I had just finished reading Incredible Incas and I have to read Intrepid Explorers next.
My brother got the 2008 annual of Horrible History in guess what year, you got it! 2008! :)

My fave of the Horrible Series has to be Horrible Science though. The authors make all the information funny and soooo easy to remember and learn.
Comment and tell me what you think about the Horrible Series, if you've read it.

Dead Famous Authors

There are many dead beloved authors now, like Enid Blyton for instance. i loved her books especially her Malory Towers series and St Clare's. Also i loved the old English authors, for some reason, the English are the best at writing for me. Like Charles Dickens, Jane Austin, the Austin Sisters, etc. I tried reading Pride and Prejudice but the old English was too hard to understand.

The Secret Garden was also a great book. And i enjoyed Little Women as well. But there are some great American authors too. My mum and brother like to read crime books and court/law books like, John Grisham's, Micheal Connelly, and those authors. Some of their books have been made into movies. For example, The Lincoln Lawyer was a fabulous film, i only watched parts of it though.

Please comment and tell me what you think about these books, and tell me what books you like to read.

Harry potter- Part 2: is there really gonna be a book 8?

Rumors state that there is going to be a Harry potter 8, but statements from JK Rowling say that she'll give it 10 YEARS, yeah I said 10 YEARS, before she'll write the next.
Rumors also state that the next book will be called: Harry potter and the dead horse.

Now this I think is a insanely stupid title. (No offense to whoever came up with it).

I mean, how does a dead horse link to anything with Hogwarts???????
Well, it could be one of those thestral's from the fifth, but, that's pretty unlikely.
Though then again, all the other titles have sounded pretty weird. I mean, the Goblet of Fire?                the Chamber of Secrets? the Prisoner of Azkaban???? Well, that's my opinion, but if JK Rowling makes and eighth book, please let it a spectacular one.
Pleeeeeeeease comment and tell me and the world what you think about  Harry potter 8.

I'm not there when sea's are calm,
unless in fear, you raise your arm....

Please try to guess this riddle!!!! Betcha caaaaaan't!
